This is a recast of an item - done in resin and mounted on this nice display. It's simply a recast of one of the original Mighty Joe Young steel armature skulls and is a 50th anniversary collectible from those films where the stop motion animation gorilla was used. As well I was surprised to note that some of the proceeds of the sale of these items was to go to some film preservation society or something like that (not sure don't remember). But I just recall something to that effect. Just a nice collectible. I believe Bob Burns has one of the entire original Mighty Joe Young complete skeletal armatures in his collection (along with the King Kong armature skeleton). Another fun and interesting conversation piece for the small collection.
