This is truly a gem for the collection. This is an unused back-of-the-hand prosthetic done in foam latex and pre-colored intended for use on F. Murray Abraham's old Salieri character in the film AMADEUS. These kinds of items are always a treasure for me because they are done by Dick Smith whom I admire so much. I just recently spoke to Dick about this item and he informed me that he made the back of hand appliances but they were never used at all - they made them but didn't use them. That's why this item doesn't show any wear or glue residue. I have a photograph showing the hands and while Dick did attest to the possiblity that this was a piece he had made this is not a documented piece. But it's reasonbly easy to tell it's a match for that makeup that was used. Plus looking closely at the detail on this item, I can't imagine it's NOT a piece of Dick's work. Too good, well detailed and just impeccible in it's manufacture. This is a nice item and being unused it should last a long time. I hope so.
