This item has an interesting history as well, if it's legit. It's a fiberglass negative mold (negative side only) and a urethane foam copy of the core mold, of what is supposedly the mold used to create the gorilla head/face for the gorilla in the end sequences of ACE VENTURA - WHEN NATURE CALLS film. The mold came from a guy who owned a storage building lot and apparently the film company used the storage building for "stuff" when once the flim was over with, never came back and retrieved their stuff from the storage building. They pulled out and left a storage shed with a lot of junk - this treasure was among that junk. The only thing I can say is that it DOES look like the gorilla in that end sequence (I ran a thin slush latex copy to compare) and it does look like it. Also it has an old marking on the fiberglass mold that says ACE VENTURA on it. The sculpt was VERY detailed and is excellent in texture and the look. It's a big gorilla head to say the least and is nicely done overall. As well, the urethane foam core still has hair in it where it looks like they put the finished prosthetic on to punch hair into the mask. Cool piece even if it wasn't the piece. It is well done enough to have really been movie used. I have to believe it is the one though. The film gorilla looks just like this guy.
