ADMTronics - This is the company site for Pros-Aide and Pros-Aide II. This incredibly good acrylic emulsion prosthetics adhesive is safe and gentle for all prosthetic applications. They have other GREAT products as well including Prep-Aide, Post-Aide, and Aqua-Creme. All of these are superb products for makeup prosthetic uses. They also have other adhesive products and are wonderfully nice people to deal with - professional, prompt, and courteous. Use these products and you won't be sorry. They are GREAT!!! They will sell direct to makeup artists and shops but they have certain minimum orders. Well worth it regardless.
American Science and Surplus - American Science and Surplus is the neatest place for all kinds of unusual stuff, a lot of which is usable junk. They buy up surplus, over-runs, close-outs, etc. from all kinds of sources. This is a fun site to browse and you might find really useful things at good prices.
Anatomical Supply - This company has skeletons, skulls, other anatomical models plus many anatomical charts and reference material. Worth checking out. Prices are reasonable for very sturdy products.
Backstage Prosthetics - A prosthetics company that manufactures and sells foam latex prosthetics for a wide variety of different makeup effects. This is a retail company and they do have some other items available also. Some of the items are kit packed so you have all you need to do the makeup job with instructions and such. This is similar to the same kind of thing SCREAM FX is doing with their business. Check it out if you think you would like to play with their products at reasonable prices.
The Black Bag Company -CAN'T SEEM TO GET IN RIGHT NOW. MAYBE THEY'RE DOWN BUT I'LL LEAVE THIS UP IN CASE THEY COME BACK ONLINE. If you've ever had trouble maintaining where things are as you are on-set or doing other makeup jobs, these products are great. Super organizers for your makeup supplies and brushes you would use on an all day shoot to maintain their whereabouts. Handy, sturdy black canvas organizers, bags, and carry-alls. Great products at great prices.
Body Tech - Props, body parts, contact lenses and much more.
Bone Clones - This company has a lot of animal and some human skulls in what they tout as near-bonelike plastic compounds. Lots of good photos if for nothing else than a reference site. Worth checking out. Prices are reasonable for what they are - very sturdy products.
Brushes By Karen - While not a retail company this site does detail a wide variety of makeup brushes of many kinds and is a good resource to look at when needing makeup brushes for your work in SPFX makeup. You can see what different brushes look like and then seek them out from the supply companies who either carry her brushes or that you deal with who deal in makeup brushes for our use. Another resource for ideas and education.
Burman Industries - This is Burman's online catalog. It is still under construction I assume and they have more categories to add yet to finish it out. Makeup Supply for a FULL line of supplies, equipment, foam latex, and much, much more. Plus they are wonderful, nice people.
Cybergraphic Designs - This is a GREAT new website/supply company with a full range of SPFX supplies for our use. They have lots of high quality prosthetic appliances of varied things, full masks, makeup supplies, casting supplies, foam latex supplies and much, much more. And they are nice people to boot. Plus the site is both entertaining and educational, check this one out. "Out of this world makeup at down to earth prices" - their motto.
Michael Davy Film & TV Makeup - I know this isn't NEW but it has a new address and I wanted you to be sure to check out his site. Met Michael Davy at the Makeup Artists Magazine Convention and Trade show in the summer of 1999 and was pleased to talk to him. His product line is really quite good from all accounts. He has a reasonably complete supply/manufacturing company in Florida, for all kinds of things from makeup to latex products to the NEW Acrylic co-polymer makeup that is the new answer to PAX paint but is removed with soap and water. Available for airbrushing as well as regular application. Some products are endorsed by DICK SMITH, specifically the Silicolor product used to intrinsically and extrinsically color silicone appliances. You all MUST check this out and get some to test. I understand it is great. Also check out the new foamed sponge gelatin. This is a great sounding product you really should look into. Check this out for sure. His compnay does most if not all, of the formulations for the items he sells in the way of the makeup products and other things as well. Great supply site.
Edmund Scientific - This is another supplier of unusual, interesting and largely scientific related items but they have many interesting things to look at that might be useful to makeup artists. They deal with a lot of science kits, optics (their biggest emphasis), magnetics, etc. Plus they have lots of little interesting items. Check them out.
Factor II, Inc. - Factor II is a great supply company that has an good line of items for medical and makeup effects prosthetic use. They have the replacement for 355 adhesive called SECURE. Plus they have a good selection of other products such as silicones, barrier creams and skin care products, solvents and coloring pigments. This is a definite page to bookmark and a company to order from.
GM Foam Company - You know it, you might use it...that's right!! None other than the official Gil Mosko GM Foam Latex products. Now getting better than ever with their new latex products which are greatly improved. If you use foam latex this is great.
Japonesque Company - This is a very good makeup supply company with a full line of makeup, makeup supplies and cases, et al of various kinds for various uses. They make some excellent makeup cases - a bit pricey but high quality. Their site is still under construction or under total remodeling so there is no online catalog at the moment. You can E-Mail them and request one if you want to. But watch this site as they redevelop it and I assume, will eventually have a catalog online. Great product line though. I have seen their catalog and they do have quality stuff.
Makeup Mania - An interesting and really groovey kind of makeup shopping experience in a mod kind of way. Check out the product line and see if their inventory can fill your makeup cases.
McMaster-Carr Supply Company - This is an industrial supply company and they have a wide variety of different things that could prove useful for SPFX use. It is hard to describe what all they have. Just go see. This site requires Adobe Acrobat Reader to view catalog but worth checking out.
Mehron, Inc. - This is the company site for Mehron makeup products. You know it, you use it, they DO have great products. I have used them (on and off) for years.
Monster Makers Homepage - This is listed a second time because they have a full range of supplies as well as ready made Halloween or collector's masks.
National Fibre Technologies - This company deals with fake fur of all kinds and custom wigs. And while they have some stock types of fake fur, they are also engaged in specially manufacturing fake fur to your specs or needs. They are rather expensive but are reputed as being THE place to obtain fake fur in extremely high qualities and have an impressive list of clients and things for which they have provided fake fur. If you have need for this and can't find it locally in fabric shops, this is another possibility or resource. Check it out.
Nu-Products Web Site - This is a nice site that has a lot of supplies and products in 12 different catalog categories. Prices, as usual, are standard for most things but they have a nice variety of things from which to choose.
Ben Nye Inc. - This is the company site for Ben Nye makeup products. You know it, you use it, they have good products. I have used these as well (on and off) for years.
Pink House Studios - This is a reasonably good company site for lots of casting products including Gordon Smith's (FXSmith's silicone products). They have a wide range of makeup effects products for SPFX use. This is always a good addition to the archive of suppliers.
Polytek, Inc. - Polytek is a company that deals heavily in flexible poly mold making materials, liquid rubber, silicones, etc. Interesting products that are great for mold making purposes for SPFX artists.
The Prop Werx - This is a new and interesting site that deals with the creation of all kinds of props for film, advertising, or stage use. They are still under construction but have a wide range of services they can provide from custom props to sets to makeup work. Keep an eye on this one to see how they progress and if you have the need please use them as you see fit. Really looks like it is going to be a very good site with a lot they provide.
Screenface Company This site is still under construction but they have good products. They make all kinds of makeup cases, sturdy travel makeup cases, and portable makeup chairs, etc.. Their products look very well made. Give them some time on this site to see if they get photos and prices listed there. If not write to them for a catalog.
Sculpture House Casting Inc. - This is an interesting company that has lots of plaster and clay products in addition to many sculpting tools and other items. Very complete. Reasonable prices on Roma Clay. Have a look if you are interested in all kinds of sculpting. Some silicone and rubber casting materials as well.
Smooth-On Company - THIS WORKS NOW BUT CAN'T GET BACK OUT OF IT EASILY. SORT OF GET LOCKED IN UNLESS YOU HIT THE HOME BUTTON TWICE REAL QUICK. THE BACK BUTTON ON THE BROWSER WON'T WORK WELL. Nice site. This company deals with resins, plastics and liquid rubber for casting all kinds of things. Very useful for what we do as SPFX artists.
Special Effects Supply - Excellent site with lots of products and great information. And they are very helpful as well. Give them a good look. They are bound to have many things you can use.
