PROFESSIONAL ARTISTS OR GROUPS

3-D Self Portrait - This is a site you won't believe. This is done by "Kaz" who is a makeup artist for Rick Baker's Cinovation Studios. What an excellent way to display your own self portrait. This is really eerie to look at and would be really disconcerting sitting on your bookshelf but certainly QUITE interesting. Go have a look but look close. It's hard to believe but true.

Hooray for Forry!!!

Arkane Effects - This is a professional British makeup effects group's site. They have lots of photos of their work and even have some interesting things for sale as part of their offering. They do very good work. Always interessting for reference or study.

Bone Yard FX - This was a site I had before and it wouldn't work for a while. Great photos of makeup effects. Great site. NEW URL so go check it out. He's still working on it so be patient as it grows.

John Carl Beuchler Homepage - This professional special effects makeup artist has a diverse and successful makeup and directing career in film work in Hollywood. John is a working professional who has given many young makeup artists a start in the business through his program of non-paying internship. And many of those young makeup artists have gone on to become full-time, working, successful famous makeup artists as well. Check out his site and look at all his credits both as a makeup artist and as a film director. Super nice fellow also. He is very interested in helping out young makeup artists, who have what it takes, to get into the business and has mentored some well known artists you would know.

The Character Shop - I know I have this site on the links page already but this is the direct link to the FAQ page wherein Lazzarini answers the question of how to get into the business of SPFX makeup work. Basically he says DON'T. And in some ways he is right on. An interesting, straight-forward, in-depth and informative look at the business from one who IS involved and recommends you find some other line of work. Comical in Lazzarini's offbeat kind of style. But probably more true than not.

Lars Carlsson Homepage - Fangad Fantasi - This is a GREAT page by this superb Swedish makeup artist, loaded with great pictures and other interesting things. He does EXCELLENT work and you MUST go see this site. You won't be sorry. Many great photos and instructional material as well. Well thought out and nicely executed web site.

Still under construction - but it has been for many, many months. He does a lot of life casting and body castings for a variety of projects including some feature film work. This is an interesting site to look at and has some very useful information a lot of which is related to those living on the west coast and who want to become involved in the film business out there. Check it out. A lot of decent photos to look at.

Frankenstein's Homepage These are a couple of guys from North Carolina who call themselves back-yard monster makers. They pride themselves upon the fact that they build things or create things using whatever they have at hand. But I was surprised at how good some of the stuff was. These guys do some interesting and unique things using what they have at available and do some of their own film work (on video) as well. Pretty interesting work they're doing. Have a look.

Daniel Fusello's Homepage This is a GREAT new site with a nice selection of some really good work by this young Washington State makeup artist. New photos have recently been added of a superb RAPTOR sculpt that is loaded with detail as is all his work. Go have a look and check this site out. Good stuff coming out of this young man. Industrial Light and Magic Homepage

Jellybelly Homepage - This is a great site with some excellent examples of the use of gelatine and silicone. There are many excellent photos of his work. His sculpts are very, very good and the detail in those and the finished work provides a good lesson to all makeup artists. You really should look at this site.

Jumara's Special Effects Page - This is a personal web page of a makeup artist who is into the Pinhead and Spawn films and duplicates the makeup and the costumes quite well. Interesting site with a few photos of his work, though not many. Give it a look.

SOTA FX Home - This is a professional makeup effects company whose credits include Spawn, Earth 2, Ed Wood and others. This details their work mostly and gives their individual bios of their involvements and careers.

Teeth By Dnash - Vampire fangs, claws and contact lenses. Interesting site for those who are into vampirism, etc. but a good source with reasonable prices for these items.

The Tooth Fairy - This is an interesting site whose owners are in the business of creating all kinds of custom made false teeth for makeup effects use. From the photographs they apparently do some good work in this area. Good source for those who need teeth custom made but don't know how to do it themselves.
