LIFECAST COLLECTION
It's been a while since I updated this page. But I have determined that it's time to get rid of this collection which has brought me much joy and interesting conversation for many years now. But now it's time to clear off the basement walls and actually have a usable basement room again. Of course that means major remodeling which I'm in the middle of at this point. But these are almost all going to my main supplier who has expressed a desire to have this collection. I will be removing these photos eventually when the transfer takes place and will only display those few I plan to keep. The rest are going to another private collector. These have been fun to look at and have but I have run out of room to display them and can't keep up with them anymore - including the dust that accumulates on them just being displayed on the walls. And I would like to have a more functional, standard basement room than for one that is movie themed. So soon, this page will reduce drastically to those I want and like and plan to keep. So stay tuned for what's to come later at some time in the near future.

The centerpiece of my whole collection of life masks has been and will remain the life mask of DICK SMITH who, in my humble opinion, is the finest makeup artist of modern special makeup effects working today and who is responsible for the standard of sharing freely of information and assistance to any aspiring makeup artist who really needs to and wants to know. Dick is the author of the ADVANCED PROFESSIONAL MAKEUP TECHNIQUES course of study of which I am lucky and blessed to be a student. As you all know, this site is dedicated to Dick and his legacy of sharing information freely to anyone who wants to learn about special makeup effects work.

This is certainly a beautiful casting and is central to what will be left of the collection. Dick was gracious enough to make one of these personally for my collection and even signed it inside the back. There are only 5 of these in existence and I'm lucky and blessed enough to have one of the five. If I had only ONE of these life casts at all, I'd be glad to have this one of Dick. Now it's REALLY as though he's looking over my shoulder as I do the work. What a treat to have and I value this one VERY HIGHLY!!
