You should examine the front half of your alginate before you remove the back half. If you discover flaws that will intefere with the intended use of the positive you may need to redo the front half again. You can leave the back half as it is - on the model - and then just re-run the front half again if there are flaws. In the photo above, there is a flaw in the right eye. This is a spot where the alginate pulled away from the eye before it was set. For the intended use of this lifecast, this was not a critical area.
