Place a 36" plaster bandage strip folded once, with the fold facing the front, across the center of your model's head just behind the ear and across the shoulders. The front edge of this strip should be as square and flat as possible. This is the key that the front half will register to. Be careful that you do not apply too much pressure while forming this strip or you will create an indentation in the skin along the neck and shoulders that will form a ridge in the positive. This is especially true if your model is older and their skin is loose and more pliable.
